Reward to catch culprits who skewered cat with bamboo cane
A reward has been offered to catch the culprits responsible for torturing a cat to death with a metre-long bamboo cane.
The reward, offered by someone who did not want to be identified, is for information that could lead to an arrest and conviction.
The anonymous donor said: “I love cats, I think this is an unbelievable crime.
“I think it’s really sickening and I don’t want anyone to know who I am but I want to help.”

Alex Harris, the owner of two-year-old Jack, who lives in Weston Mill, spoke to The Herald about his loss last week after a bamboo cane was forced diagonally through the tabby cat’s body.
Alex is currently in the Falklands with the Royal Navy, where he works as a Leading Writer.
Police say the attack was so sickening they are concerned about the kind of person who was behind it.
The investigation is currently ongoing and anyone with information can contact the police, in confidence, on 101, quoting crime reference number ED/12/5858.

“In all fairness to we need to know where the cats owner is or is this heralds way of filling up the story so as to justify its already diminishing existence.”

“Any person who can do this is not right in the head. First it's animals, next it'll be people. Freaks like this need locking up before it gets that far.”
