THE sharp-suited super-slick trio known as Dynamo's Rhythm Aces stop by at Annabel's tonight to deliver a dose of Forties and Fifties swing, R&B and hillbilly.

But don't expect them to play traditional Forties and Fifties songs: Oh, no. These guys like to mix it up by taking far more recent tunes and giving them the swing treatment. So you'll get Frankie Goes To Hollywood's Relax with a real swing beat, The Smith's Panic scat-style, plus a fingerpicking-good version of Motorhead's Ace Of Spades, all served up in hot boogie woogie fashion.

With an ability to put the boogaloo into the Beastie Boys, and the Charleston into T-Rex, their cross-genre, hilarious renditions of the likes of Teenage Kicks, My Generation and Paranoid are not only refreshing but bordering on genius. The Edinburgh Fringe described them as "visually entertaining, musically stunning"; they certainly have to be seen to be believed.

As usual, a night at Annabel's isn't just about live music. As well as the band, who are live on stage from 10pm, there'll be inter-set entertainment in the form of burlesque dancing from Peachy McKeen, and after the show you can carry on partying with DJ Andy Howard upstairs, all for the entry price of £5.

Next Saturday Annabel's, aka The Kingdom of Night-time Pleasures, will be celebrating its second birthday with a big birthday bash on the theme of pimps and hos, vicars and tarts. Annabel invites you to don your finery and prepare to have some truly delightful and decadent fun, whether sipping cocktails in the luxury of the casting couch or strutting your fabulous stuff on the dance floor to the delicious doo-wop beats of the Hot House Playboys, with added entertainment from her bevy of burlesque dancers.

Tickets are just £5 and it's probably a good idea to book in advance.

Over-21s can call ahead on 01752 260555 to reserve a table.
