Richard Briers CBE dies, aged 79
Richard Briers, who played Prospero in a much-acclaimed staging of The Tempest at Plymouth Theatre Royal in 2002, has died today, aged 79.
Richard David Briers CBE was most famous for his TV roles with Tom Good from The Good Life making him a household name.

He also starred in Ever Decreasing Circles and Monarch of the Glen, while his career encompassed theatre, television, film and radio.
Richard Briers first came to prominence as George Starling in Marriage Lines in the 1960s.
