Road closed after pedestrian left with serious injury
Police are assisting the ambulance service after a serious traffic collision in Plymouth.
Around 4.20pm this afternoon a pedestrian was involved in a collision with a car in Shakespeare Road in the Crownhill area of the city.

The male pedestrian was taken to Derriford Hospital by the ambulance service with a serious leg injury.
Police said the car involved was a silver coloured Vauxhall Astra.
Shakespeare Road with the junction of Honicknowle Lane has been closed while investigations continue.

“Carla, the EH seem to suffer with problems knowing local geography!
There was actually to incidents there this evening, one which closed Shakespear and one which closed Honicknowle lane. The second one appeared as if something had been thrown at the windscreen of a vehicle.”

“I'd like to point out that the incident happened in Honicknowle, not Crownhill, and Shakespeare Road is still open, although Honicknowle Lane is closed from Shakespeare Road onwards. I know because I live in Shakespeare Road and can see the location of the incident from my house.”
