Rosemary's Channel swimming challenge
A FUNDRAISER has clocked up enough miles in a swimming pool to have crossed the Channel, in a bid to raise money for people with spinal cord injuries.
Rosemary Heffron from Plympton has been taking part in the Aspire Channel Swim 2012 challenge for 10 weeks.
Altogether the 47-year-old has covered 1,416 lengths to make up her 22 miles. She has been swimming in the Life Centre's 25m pool which on a Wednesday is extended to 50m.
"I just can't believe I've done it. "I've done it a lot quicker than I expected. I started going to the gym as part of my weight loss programme. I didn't think I would complete it but I applied and went for it!" she said.
