Altogether the 47-year-old has covered 1,416 lengths to make up her 22 miles. She has been swimming in the Life Centre's 25m pool which on a Wednesday is extended to 50m.

"I just can't believe I've done it. "I've done it a lot quicker than I expected. I started going to the gym as part of my weight loss programme. I didn't think I would complete it but I applied and went for it!" she said.
