Salvation Army band praises public generosity

THE Salvation Army band has offered its thanks to supporters after it performed in the city centre last month.

Derek Pook, organising secretary of the Plymouth Salvation Army band, said the sum donated by generous supporters over the three weeks amounted to £6,686.16.

"This money has been used wisely. We have met the needs of nearly 400 children with new toys.

"Some of the toys were donated by churches and various organisations.
