School greens are to get a makeover
FIVE Plymouth schools are preparing to have their greens revitalised by volunteers this month.
The programme named 'The Big Dig' by organisers Morrisons is part of their Let's Grow campaign and is expected to replenish 340 schools across the UK in April with Plymouth registering one of the highest numbers of schools.
The tasks include weeding and watering land before flowers and crops are planted. The crops that are sewn will be then harvested in July for Morrison's Big Lunch.
David Hewitt, Communities and School Partnership Manager at Morrisons said: "We are delighted that so many people will be turning out for the Big Dig throughout this month and are really pleased it has got so much support in Plymouth.
