DONATION: Headteacher Jim Massey with representatives of the Tavistock Youth Café Plus and pupils at the cheque presentation
Headteacher Jim Massey has presented a cheque for £8,652.14 to cafe founder Cathy Sharp.
She said: "We are truly humbled by the generosity of the staff, pupils and parents of Mount House School.
"The money they raised will mean so much for our youngsters."
During the day, pupils and staff wore masks or moustaches to school in exchange for a donation.
In the evening, the school held a masks and moustaches ball, which was attended by more than 120 parents, staff and friends.
Tavistock Youth Cafe Plus, launched a year ago, gives young people the chance to socialise while parents can have a coffee and chat.
Activities and facilities include the use of computers, pool table and a football group.
