Scooter speedies
SORRY to disappoint Scott Moy (Two sides to tale, The Herald September 25), you are wrong. We don't own a dog and if we did, taking the risk of it being hurt by one of these "scooter speedies" would certainly never be taken.
What Mr Moy and others just don't seem to grasp is that a significant minority of mobility scooter users are not only abusing the system by travelling around the city far too fast but putting many pedestrians at increasing risk of injury. This has to be addressed.
Interestingly by what Mr Moy has stated, my wife and I are certainly not the only ones to have nearly been injured. Get my point?

“Just because a person is sitting in a mobility scooter does not give them the right to travel at more than a walking pace on the pavements. Anyone in the way of these things should stand their ground and slow them down.
I'm sure it's only a minority involved but they must be educated in the rules of the mobility use.”
