FIREMEN rescued a seagull trapped in barbed wire on the roof of a home.

The RSPCA called in the fire brigade because the bird was in distress in Loughboro Road.

Firefighters from Camels Head freed the chick from the two-storey home and removed the barbed wire.

“spending lots of tax payers money on saving a seagull chick when a cat may have been stuck up a tree....terrible thought. i'm sure the Fire Service have better things to do”

“I agree should have just shot the darned thing and been done with it. The RSPCA lost my support some time ago when on a local radio show they told a 90 year old man who could not go out to tend his garden because of nesting seagulls to stay indoors until they had finished nesting. Putting pests before people. Seagulls are 20 a dozen flying vermin and should be treated as such.
After hearing this poor chap being told there was nothing to be done and that he would be prosecuted for intererring with them I with drew my support for the RSPCA.
Now give to help the aged instead.
    Seagulls indeed!”

“These pests are getting worse. The dive bombing was bad enough, then started the jumbo sausage onslaught. To top it all, last saturday night outside the Three Crowns there was one doing kick boxing on some poor pigeon. Steven Seagull apparently.”

“"...shooting it back out of its beak like a torpedo"

Great, now they have projectiles too! Dangerous enough as dive bombers. I think though, if we pull together, we can take 'em. It will be tough but I'm ready. If Plymouth had any beaches I would fight the seagulls on them.

This is silly. I can't believe it 'n all that.”

“Sadperson quote- 'Place a dollop bicarbonate of soda in the middle and wrap bread around'..

That's an old wives tale mate because the internal plumbing arrangements of most birds allow them to throw up anything that doesn't agree with them.
For example in a video somebody tossed a hot sausage to a seagull, it gulped it down in one go, then decided it was too hot and regurgitated it, shooting it back out of its beak like a torpedo”

“1) Take a piece of fresh bread, work into a doughy texture with fingers, then flatten out

    2) Place a dollop bicarbonate of soda in the middle and wrap bread around

    3) feed to sh*tehawk

    4) once swallowed, allow time for bi-carb to react with stomach acids

    5) watch sh*tehawk explode”
