A COSMETICS shop in Plymouth says it has been targeted by supporters of fox hunting after it launched an anti- hunting bubble bath.

A 19-year-old member of staff at Lush, in the Drake Circus shopping mall, was left shaken after a man acted aggressively, pointing at her, using threatening language and getting very close to her face on Saturday.

He told her he was a hunter and the sport was legal, demanding the shop stop supporting anti-hunters.

"He was very sinister and we were left shaken," said shop manager Dawn Frogson. "He picked on the youngest and smallest member of staff and got right up into her face using a low but aggressive tone which was very intimidating."

The man had left the shop by the time security arrived but police have been informed. He is described as about 32, 6ft tall, with cropped reddish hair and a 'funny' tooth. He was wearing a rugby shirt with the collar up, a leather jacket and jeans, and was clean-shaven.

The shop was plastered in protest posters on October 18. Five posters reading 'Keep hunting, keep fighting' were superglued to the window.

Plymouth's is one of several branches of the company which have been targeted following the launch of its Fabulous Mrs Fox bubble bars.

Proceeds from sales are donated to the Hunt Saboteurs' Association.

Ms Frogson said: "Everyone is entitled to their opinion; we live in a democracy. We were just making a statement that hunting is illegal. We didn't break the law.

"It's a shame that other people chose to express their opinion in this way."

She added that the glue had left scratches on the windows but 'a scatched window won't stop us having an opinion.'

She said staff called police after one person was seen gluing the posters to the shop front at about 2.50pm.

The shop had been having a party to celebrate the launch of the bubble bar.

In the past week, Lush branches across the country have been vandalised and staff threatened by pro- hunt campaigners.

Plymouth police said the neighbourhood beat manager had been informed about the incident.

“Typical of the hunting fraternity, they are supposed to be law abiding citizens, yet we see a young girl, bullied, threatened, intimidated and frightened by the bully boys from the hunt. It is not only animals they torment and threaten but people as well, those who don't conform to their ignorant, outdated and barbaric way of thinking. The hunting fraternity have lost the argument, hare coursing is now banned, foxhunting is on the way out and so like all people who have lost the argument the only way forward for them is threatening behaviour and intimidation. Mind you that doesn't surprise me considering the way they have killed, ripped apart and mutilated foxes, hares, deer and mink for years. These people who think it is acceptable to rip animals apart for fun and pleasure need to have a reality check and start living in the 21 century. You are not welcome in the countryside with your hounds, cars blocking village roads, hounds ripping domestic animals to pieces especially cats. Hounds straying onto roads and railway lines causing a hazard to the local population. You are in the minority in the countryside and you are just not welcome, so grow up and contribute something constructive to the countryside. Even lager louts on a Friday night don't cause as much trouble as you hunting louts, get a life.

You only have to read the idiotic ramblings of the hunting fraternity on Liams Hunting Directory to realize they are all a sandwich short of a picnic and not very intelligent.

    Best Wishes, Charlie Fox.

    Tally Ho, never again !!!!!!!!!!”

“The HSA manual advocates the following method of illegally terrorising wildlife:

"To carry out pre-beating form a line at the up-wind end of the covert and walk through the wood using whistles, horns and hunting calls in an imitation of the hunt. The line should beat right to the very end of the covert, as foxes are often loathe to leave. Care should be taken to keep the beating line straight. The area to be hunted should be beaten systematically in this fashion, covert after covert"

These people are highly arrogant and think they are above the law.”

“Boris, you say the countryside belongs to all of us, so please can I see you out tomorrow laying a hedge, rebuilding a drystone wall and rehanging a gate. After that can you do some ploughing, harrowing and seeding before you fix a couple of styles.”

“What happened to the Charm Offensive courses organised by the Countryside Alliance for the hunt supporters, in order to help improve their image?
It appears to have been an absolute failure.”

“A lot of people make a living from hunting and since the ban now get very little for their efforts. Ever since the dawn of age people have gone hunting, why should it change now!”
