LOCAL singer/songwriter Ben Howard, whose grass-roots following as part of the Devon and Cornish surfing fraternity helped garner him a deal with Island Records, has been nominated for two BRIT awards and Herald readers can vote for him.

Ben, who is nominated for British Male and Breakthrough Act, will also be performing at the show which takes place in London next Wednesday.

He is currently touring the US with Mumford and Sons but did a sell-out headline show in New York to 3,000 people earlier this week and has just announced a Central Park headline show for 5000 in Central Park in the summer. He'll also be back in the States later this year for a tour of the west coast and to play Coachella Festival, following a tour of Australia.

Ben is currently working on his second album, the follow up to Every Kingdom which reached the top ten of the UK album charts.
