PARENTS from a city primary school raised more than £3,000 for a city charity – thanks in part to a daring skydive.

The five parents, whose children attend St Andrew's Church of England Primary School, in Citadel Road, took part in a number of activities for St Luke's Hospice.

They included the St Luke's Skydive, Midnight Walk and Tour de Moor, as well as a students' cake sale.

Simon Pittman, a member of the St Andrew's parents fundraising team, said: "The care provided for my wife in her last few weeks at the hospice was exceptional and I promised her that I would do the skydive to raise funds to support St Luke's."
