“Jabbathebutt- Can you really be that naive? Roger Bannister didn't do anything in 10 seconds apart from tying his laces! If he did manage a kilometer in 10 seconds he would still hold the record for the fastest man on earth and Usain Bolt would need a huge bolt up his backside to beat him!
To ensure you stay safe and don't get caught in a snow drift tomorrow this ----------------- equates to 2cm. Be careful out there!”

"The marathon.... we all know its 26 miles (plus a few hundred yards) and can get our head around the fact .
But who the heck can get there head around the fact that it is also only 21.0975 kilometers ?
We had a 10k run in Plymouth a short while ago .... it should have been 10 miles . The road signs they run on are designated in miles . I dont see any signs saying how many kilometers there are to a certain place here . But I see 1/2 mile or 3/4 signs or even 100 yards to the exit signs and we all know how far it is . Why newspapers and TV insist on calling everything the foriegn way is ridiculous . It shouldnt be up to British people to read foriegn ways of measurements and work it out . If I want to read measurements in a different language on a weather report I would buy la monde or pravda. I would also not complain about other countries using their own measuements for drinks whilst I am abroad . But this is Britain ."
The Uk should have gone totally metric years ago instead of a half-baked system. Perhaps it says something about the british population!
It only took some third world countries a couple of years to change from imperial to metric”

“The marathon originated in Greece in 490BC when Pheidippides ran over 26 miles to deliver the message that Persia was defeated. Its origins have nothing to do with Britain.”

“Inchworm was written by the American song writer Frank Loesser. He was Jewish and so were his parents.
Danny Kaye was also born in America. His real name was David Kaminsky and his parents were Ukranian Jewish immigrants.
Glad you read you are a fan of both, Jabba.”
