Sports club membership
A MANNAMEAD sports club has seen membership soar in the wake of the summer's London Olympics.
Whiteford Road Badminton and Tennis Club had just two badminton members in April.
The expanding club has since attracted 19 adult and eight junior members, and now holds regular coaching sessions for both junior and 'back to basics' adult players.
Earlier this year the club won £40,685 of Sport England cash as part of the body's Olympic Legacy funding round.

The money will allow it to add a sparkling new viewing gallery, improved changing rooms, updated heating systems and hi-tech dehumidifiers in its badminton courts.
