PLYMOUTH University student and budding young designer Nicola Carter is working alongside Tamaritans Theatre Company to create sets for a forthcoming production.

The production of A Voyage Round My Father at the Drum Theatre from January 24 to 28 is an amazing opportunity for Nicola to fulfil her long- held ambition of becoming a professional set designer.

Nicola who is completing the final year of an Illustration Course at Plymouth University, is interested in all aspects of design in the theatre from sets to costumes.

She has previously designed an innovative and original set for the University Musical Theatre Group's production of Sweeney Todd.

Nicola has become an enthusiastic member of the set building team, overseeing the design and helping to build and paint what promises to be a really exciting set on the Drum stage.

With spacious rehearsal rooms and a team of experienced set builders the Tamaritans Theatre Company has always earned praise for well designed and beautifully built sets, and with Nicola's help the set is looking to be a huge success.
