Student's menu for charity
STUDENTS have designed a three-course menu to raise money for the city charity Shekinah Mission.
Tutor groups in Torpoint Community College have risen to last term's 'house challenge' of designing a three-course menu to raise funds. Fundraising activities have ranged from drama performances to raise awareness of the charity's ethos to popcorn-fuelled film showings for a small entry-fee.
Mr Pease, a house leader of learning at the college, said: "I am amazed and overwhelmed by the charitable natures of the students.
"Their dedication has been an inspiration to all the staff and we are proud of each and every one of them.

As a college, the students were hoping to raise £1,000, most of which will be spent on the food for the three-course menus.
John Rumbold, store manager of the Sainsbury's branch in Torpoint, has supported the college throughout and donated mince pies to the cause.
Shekinah supports a wide range of adults and young people living in Plymouth in dealing with issues of homelessness, substance misuse, offending behaviours and social exclusion. The charity tackles the complex issues with a holistic and integrated approach.
