"These have included Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown, The Hobbit by J R R Tolkein and James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl."
The week ended in a dress-up day where the children got into the spirit of the week by dressing as their favourite book characters.
There was a wide variety of dress ups, including Cat in the Hat, Willy Wonka, an Umpa Lumpa, Mr Tickle, The Hobbit and Alice in Wonderland.
"Our book week encourages children to read and enjoy books; it can open up a fantasy world in which children can lose themselves.
"We were delighted that so many children took part," Mrs Lee added.
