Tetcott Hunt hosts fun ride
THE Tetcott Hunt is hosting a fun ride in the depths of the countryside as its final fund-raiser of the season.
It will take place on Sunday, October 4 at Sudcott – near Jacobstow and Week St Mary, east of the A39 between Camelford and Bude.
Hunt committee chairman, Julian Smeeth said: "The ride is well away from roads through magnificent unspoilt countryside miles from civilisation.
"The approximate 12-mile route passes through wooded areas and pastureland with part of it over old turf and plenty of opportunity to canter and gallop.
"For those who may be more adventurous there is the opportunity to try a few jumps, working hunter jumps and cross-country style, but I stress these are optional.
"Riders can even take a ford across a small river or, if preferred use the nearby bridge, which is an ideal opportunity for horses to take a breather and have a drink.
"How lucky we are to have such supportive landowners in our country and we are particularly grateful to those who allow us on to their land to raise funds for the hunt."
The route will be lined with marshals and St John Ambulance staff will be in attendance.
Riders can set off at anytime between 10am and 1pm.
