Thirteen rescued from Plymouth lift at midnight

Thirteen people had to be freed from a lift by engineersd and firefighters in plymouth at midnight this morning.

Crews were sent to Central Point, Royal Parade with two fire fighting appliances from Greenbank fire station attending the student accommodation.

Upon arrival, crews found the lift with 13 people inside on the basement level, it was stuck between the basement and the ground floor.

The lift engineer was called to the job as crews had difficulty making entry into the lift car.
