Thug faces jail for associating with gang member and having drugs
A TEENAGE thug who breached an antisocial behaviour order imposed for being an alleged member of a notorious city gang could face a long stretch behind bars.
Yob Joshua Webb, aged 19, was with another alleged member of the Honicknowle Defence Regiment when a motorbike was taken and freewheeled down a hill, Plymouth magistrates were told.
Webb had only just been released from a seven-month custodial sentence for a string of drunken offences over the previous ten months.
Webb, of Ringmore Way in West Park, admitted breaching his order by associating with 18-year-old Jed Crisp on August 7.
He also admitted possession of cannabis.
A charge of allowing himself to be carried on a motorcycle he knew had been taken without the owner's consent was withdrawn.
Magistrates adjourned sentence on Webb until Monday.
But Webb has already twice breached the order and been convicted of being drunk and disorderly in the street.
District Judge Paul Farmer, who sentenced him to seven months in a young offenders institution only last month, had warned Webb that if he appeared in court again, he would be sent to face a Crown Court where he would be likely to face a substantial sentence.
Webb and Crisp, of Mylor Close, Pennycross, were two of three alleged members of the HDR given wide-ranging Asbos in September last year. They were banned from using "foul and abusive language" to anybody and banned from throwing stones, other objects or writing graffiti.
The trio were also barred from being drunk or under the influence of controlled drugs in public.
No details were heard of the case against Webb before his sentence.
But magistrates who heard Crisp admit breaching the order by associating with Webb were told that the pair were spotted freewheeling down a slope on a motorbike in Honicknowle at about 11pm.
The bike, with Crisp in charge, had been taken from outside a resident's house that night.
The court was told that both men were challenged and tried to run away.
Crisp was apprehended by another resident but Webb escaped. Magistrates have adjourned sentence on Crisp until November.
A district judge imposed Asbos on three young men last September.
She said Crisp, Webb and three other young men who appeared in court were all guilty of a catalogue of antisocial behaviour brought before the court.
Plymouth City Council, backed by the police, said this included assaults, intimidation, public order offences, criminal damage, stone-throwing, graffiti, theft, burglary, robbery, alcohol and drug offences, weapons offences and vehicle offences.

“What this Country needs is Brat Camps in the middle of Dartmoor like they have in the USA. Thugs with attitude are sent there and made to re-examine their way of thinking rather like the old Sgt,Majors in Training Camps during National Service. Six months of 'you are a 'orrible little man, what are you' and cleaning out the toilets with their toothbrush would soon take the arrogance out of them”

“These boys are a true testament to new Labour.
Other than being a walking metaphor for an ASBO, these morons have no use or greater value than that of a dog t*rd.
I will say it again, the best place for these boys is a Saturday afternoon in the Pillory somewhere between Armada Way and Royal Parade.
Lets see how that would change their outlook on life.”

“The HDR are only notorious because the Herald seem intent on giving a bunch of no marks some kind of status and credibility that mainly exists in their own tiny minds.Bunch of stupid kids who havn't grown up and learned some respect for themselves let alone anyone else that would have stopped their stupidity years ago if the legal system actually worked. They'd be unknown outside of Honicknowle if it wasn't the Herald, they'd be eaten alive in Bristol let alone places like London or Glasgow, they all seem to have some kind of "Learning Disability" as it's known now.”
