Time for an inquiry
WITHIN days of the Prime Minister announcing planning laws are to be relaxed, we see the masterplan for the airport appear.
This plan has clearly taken sometime to get together and at considerable cost,
When they were looking to take over the airport the city bent over backwards to subsidise them giving a rent free deal lasting 150 years and a lease to match, a deal which would be worth £35 million plus over the term. In other words a loss to the city. You really can't get any better than that, that's without the Armageddon clause. Now we have another team hoping to take it over and what message do they get from the same council?
It's surely time we have a public official inquiry here as to just exactly what has gone on.

Where on earth do you get that figure from?
I fully support the council providing the land to the airport for free but the ownership should remain with the council and the lease should be terminated if they decide they cannot run the airport any more.”
