If you are too far from a television on Saturday evening to catch the semifinal of Tom Daley's new TV show Splash, or want to let your thoughts about the program be known online, thisisplymouth.co.uk will be the place to be for you.

From the show's start until the winners have been declared, thisisplymouth will do live updates of the show, picking and commenting on the best (and worst) bits of the action throughout.

You also have the chance to weigh in on the program live by using Twitter. Just include the hashtag #thisissplash in your tweets and your comments might become part of our updates.

Splash features Tom Daley and a team of professional coaches teaching a number of celebrities how to take the first steps into the world of diving. Some of the contestants seem to take to the sport like a duck to water, while others have shown styles reminiscent of a trusty old belly flop when entering the pool.

Testament to the fact that diving is a dangerous sport was seen throughout the heats. For example, TV presenter Charlotte Jackson broke her toe during training, but still managed to make it through to the semi final. Also through is people's favorite Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards who did a one-and-a-half somersault pike off the 10 metre platform.

Live updates:

19.00 - Good evening and welcome to the live updates from Tom Daley's Splash.

19:01 - Who do you think is going to plunge to victory tonight? Tell us on Twitter using the hasttag #thisissplash

19:03 - Tonight's celebrities are: Olympic boxer Anthony Ogogo, TV-presenter Linda Barker, sporting legend (of sorts) Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards, Sky Sports host Charlotte Jackson, comic Omid Djalili and actor Jake Canuso.

19:05 - The celebs have been training all week, upping the height and difficulty of their dives - except for Anthony Ogogo who picked up a heel injury and has not trained at all.

19:07 - The boxer says that he has had to listen to his head and has decided to pull out of the competition.

19:08 - Ogogo says that his focus is on having a long career as a boxer and that is why he has had to pull out.

19:09 - He has, however, donned a set of trunks for the show. The white and blue briefs would make pop band LMFAO (the band behind 'Sexy and I know it') proud.

19:10 - First celbrity up the stairs and onto the diving board is Omid Djalili.

19:11 - The comedian is doing a forward pike dive off the 10 metre board.

19:12 - Omid steps up to the edge, focusses with closed eyes, takes a second to talk to himself and then dives off.

19:13 - Omid Djalili performs a good pike dive, although he overrotates it slightly. The judges are impressed with his style - if not his grace.

19:15 - The scores are 7,8 and 7, giving him 22 out of 30.

19:16 - Omid says he has been very inspired by judge Jo Brand's comments from his first appearance, where she referred to him as 'an elegant turkey'.

19:22 - Next celeb walking the board will be Linda Barker.

19:23 - Linda Barker has been working on an inward dive.

19:24 - Her dive will be an inward tuck - a first for the competition. She will also be the first woman to go off the 10 metre board.

19:25 - Halfway through her dive, Linda Barker looks like she has under rotated. She seems to come out of the tuck position too early, and the landing shows it with a large splash.

19:27 - The judges are deeply impressed with her dive, giving her scores of 8, 9 and 8.5, giving her a total of 25.5 out of 30.

19:29 - Jake Canuso will be attempting an armstand forward somersault from the 7.5 metre board.

19:31 - The actor is trying 'to take myself out of my comfort zone'. And I do not think he is talking about the miniscule trunks he is wearing...

19:32 - Jake Canuso focusses and gets up in the armstand. He slightly underrotates the somersault, but only a little.

19:34 - The judges scores the dive 9, 9 and 9. The total of 27 out of 30, sending him into the lead.

19:42 - Charlotte Jackson, who broke a toe during training before her heat, but still made it through, is up next.

19:43 - Charlotte Jackson during training: she seems to develop a bit of a mental block and her dives show it.

19:44 - Her dive will be a forward pike fall from the 10 metre board.

19:45 - Charlotte goes off the board and seems to overrotate a little, but it will be interesting to hear what the judges thought.

19:47 - The judges pick on the fact that the dive was not very technically difficult. The scores are 6, 7 and 6. A total of 19 points out of 30 means that she will have to rely on the public's vote if she is going to make it through to the final.

19:48 - Last up will be Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards, who has promised us something special.

19:55 - Eddie has come prepared - his trunks have golden wings.

19:56 - Footage from training show The Eagle landing straight on his face. And his confidence seems to waver.

19:57 - His dive will be a one-and-a-half inward somersault from the 10 metre board.

19:58 - Wow. A near perfect dive from Eddie The Eagle.

19:59 - Judges: 'dive of the semi final', 'an absolutely stunning performance' and 'amazing'. The scores are 9.5, 10 and 9.5, an incredible total of 29 out of 30 points. Now it is time for the public to cast their vote.

20:05 - The special Splash performers put on a show.

20:10 - Tonia Couch and Tom Daley give a little taste of what is happening in the final with a syncronised dive. In the final the celebs will have to perform a dive on their own as well as a syncronised dive with Tom Daley.

20:15 - A sit down with all of the diving celebs, who lavish praise on Tom Daley and the experiences they have had so far. It all looks a little surreal with five people being interviewed at the same time while wearing nothing but swimwear. Probably not an idea that would work well on BBC's Hard Talk.

20:19 - After the public's votes have been counted, two celebs will go straight through to next week's final, while the last three will have to hope for a - pardon the pun - lucky dip in the dive off to secure a place in the final.

20:22 - Linda Barker and Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards make it straight through to the final.

20:24 - The three remaining contestants get ready. First up is Omid Djalili. A little less than perfect.

20:25 - He is followed by Jake Canuso who takes a long time preparing for the armstand, and does not quite make it into an upright position at his first go.

20:26 - Ouch. Jake Canuso falls straight out of the armstand into his dive and underrotates in a big way.

20:27 - Last up it is Charlotte Jackson, who performs the easiest of the three dives, but with the best entry.

20:28 - It is up to the judges. There is a vote for Jake Canuso, one for Omid Djalili and the last vote is for Jake Canuso who makes it through to the final.

“imalady said All those who dont like Tom are jealous beyond belief.
What a load of rubbish that you have posted. If i dont like somebody this does not automatically mean that im jealous of that person.

The main reason why people dont like him is because of the overkill of stories this website make about him,and most stories are non stories.”

“Its not Tom Daley ... its the obvious and embarrasing overkill by the Herald . There is such a thing as being modest and discreet . He himself seems to have done that . The young staff at the Herald need to learn from it .”

“@Ricie What do tattoos and piercings have to do with being "well presented"? Not every tatto is a flaming skull (nothing against those personally) and not everyone wears 00 gauges in their labret or has whole face pierced. Not sure why I bother though, since you admire orange coloured bloke with a daft expression on his face most of the time. To each their own I guess.”
