Track loads of adventure for summer
LOOKING for an ideal attraction for a fun-filled family day out which boasts a host of attractions in one location?
Jump on board
DEVON Railway Centre at Bickleigh, near Tiverton, looks forward to welcoming you this summer. It is open every day of the week with both steam and diesel trains operating in July and August. You can ride as many times as you like on two delightful separate railways at no extra charge.
The vintage narrow gauge railway encourages children to clip their tickets and wave the flag to start the train! The miniature train ride is great fun with the highlight a journey through Magic Wood.
Two full-size play coaches, beautifully decorated inside, create a lovely child-friendly area which includes a ball pool, sand pit and a large wooden train layout. The coaches also contain space for children's parties.
The model village, tin mine and outdoor play area are also included in the admission cost and for a small extra charge children can enjoy driving their own rides!
See marine life
YOU will be amazed at the fascinating underwater world at the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth, the UK's largest aquarium.
Start with a rock pool ramble in Shallow Waters, then move deeper into the coastal seas of the Atlantic Reef.
Find the Atlantic Ocean tank teeming with sharks, rays, tarpon and countless other species swimming in shoals.
After meeting freaky fish in Weird Creatures see the visual spectacular of Coral Seas, the perfect place to end your journey.
Be amazed by maze
ESCOT is the natural place for a day out in Devon with inspiring gardens, an amazing maze, wildlife, a play barn, forest play areas and an aquatic centre and much, much more.
Meet the ponies
AT the Miniature Pony Centre you can see, meet and touch over 150 animals, including miniature Shetland ponies and miniature Mediterranean donkeys and explore 20 acres of beautiful Dartmoor parkland.
There's hands-on activities and displays every day, including a daily falconry display, and extra activities during the school holidays, including regular children's entertainers.
Potential horse riders (aged two to nine) can head for the riding arena for a pony ride, supervised by helpful and friendly staff.
There are several play areas, both indoors and outdoors, where children of all ages can burn off excess energy.
Tee-off at Woodlands
AFTER you've exhausted yourself riding, sliding and climbing at Woodlands tee-off to something different. Grab a golf club and head for the new Safari Adventure Golf Course.
The 18-hole course has fun challenges like the Lion Bunker and Crocodile Rough to steer round.
Sculpting the course into the hillside was an expensive challenge costing over £75,000.
There is a deposit for the clubs and a charge for the Safari Adventure Golf.
The 90-acre park is a complete day out for families looking for a whole day of variety. Keeping the family together is a joy as there are rides and attractions at each of the 10 play zones appealing to all ages.
Indoors is amazing with 125,000 sq ft undercover. From the awesome Empire with its three rides, soaring climbing towers and nets to the Ice Palace soft play and Master Blaster. Even the Falconry Centre has a superb indoor centre and the Zoo Farm has a selection of barns packed with interesting animals, insects and birds.
