Nobody was injured in the single-vehicle accident.
The car was towed into a lay-by at around 8.30am, but traffic had begun to build up in the area.
Meanwhile, emergency services are at the scene of a collision near the Golden Hind pub, in Mannamead Road.
Police said they had been called, along with ambulance crews, to the road’s busy junction with Russell Avenue.
A force spokeswoman said the motorcyclist had “no obvious signs of injury” following the smash with another vehicle, which happened at around 8.25am.
