Tribute to Captain Henry
A SPECIAL memorial service was held to a city war hero.
In a double ceremony at Ford Park cemetery, visitors paid tribute to VC winner Captain Andrew Henry of the Royal Artillery.
Capt Henry famously defended his Battery on November 5, 1854, at the Battle of Inkerman despite serious wounds.
A wreath was laid at his grave by the Plymouth Royal Artillery Association. A wreath was also laid to remember Blitz victims.

“"Ubique means that warnin' grunt the perished linesman knows,
When o'er 'is strung an' sufferin' front the shrapnel sprays 'is foes;
An' as their firin' dies away the 'usky whisper runs
From lips that 'aven't drunk all day: "The Guns! Thank Gawd, the Guns!"
- Rudyard Kipling”
