VIDEO: Woman left with head injuries after crash in Crownhill, Plymouth
A woman was left with head injuries after her car hit a set of traffic lights.
The incident was reported to police at around 11.20am this morning when a grey Nissan hit the traffic signals in Crownhill.

The female driver was treated for head injuries by an ambulance at the scene, her injuries are “not too serious” according to a police spokesperson.
The incident happened on Crownhill Road heading towards West park, at the set of traffic lights on the junction with St Peters Road.
No other vehicles were involved, however the car is still at the scene causing some delays and making it difficult for large vehicles to drive along the single-lane road.
Some HGV’s were having to turn onto St Peters Road as they couldn’t get around the vehicle.
Workmen were at the scene clearing up oil and debris from the car and making the traffic signals safe, which were left dented and leaning by the force of the crash.

“its about time car manufactures were forced by law to not be allowed to manafacture anymore cars untill they develop a fail safe collision avoidance system. THe level of accidents is becoming a tragedy. they are just producing ridiculous amounts of new vehicles without an actual need for them. if they want to continue producing cars make them bound by law to be required to use collision avoidance system. any human being can lose concentration and these machines have no collision avoidance for such instances. if lowering the speed limit to 25 would increase safety. also use special electronic restriction to make it impossible for anybody to break the limit rendering precision driving standards. electronically prevent cars from harsh acceleration.”
