Veteran point guard Rod Brown left Plymouth Raiders because of injury
VETERAN point guard Rod Brown has left Plymouth Raiders for London Lions because he was injured, it has emerged.
Brown joined the Lions in a last-second deal during Thursday's transfer deadline day after just six weeks with Plymouth.
Raiders say it had been mutually agreed that the 6'1" American, who has a British passport, should be released.
Lions then approached Brown, with Raiders agreeing to the deal after being contacted by England Basketball to check that the point-guard was available.

Raiders cannot now replace Brown as the transfer window has closed, although the UCP Marjon-backed club say that will not be a problem.
Brown has only been with the club since early January.
He was signed as a replacement for 29-year-old Jeremy Bell, who failed to return to Plymouth after going home to Arkansas in the United States for 'personal reasons' which left him unable to commit his immediate future to the Raiders.
Brown played for Raiders, who are third in the BBL, up until last weekend, when he helped the city team beat Durham.
Raiders' chief executive, Dave Briggs, said Brown had been injured during a game a couple of weeks ago.
Briggs said: "He (Brown) was carrying an injury and we just thought it would be better for us – and for him – it he was released.
"Because of the injury, his performance wasn't up to the level we had hoped for.
"As the transfer deadline has now passed, we won't be bringing any replacements in, but we have a settled squad, so that shouldn't be a problem.
"The decision to release Rod was mutual and we wished him all the best for the future."
Seventh-placed Lions said they were delighted to get the point-guard. They trail Raiders by 10 points.
Lions head coach Vince Macaulay said: "When it became clear that Rod and Plymouth had parted company we quickly put the wheels in motion to get him on to the team.
"We have needed additional veteran leadership and Rod will provide that in bucket loads."
