Vicky is back on home turf
TOTNES-based cellist Vicky Evans founded Divertimento Entertainments some 20 years ago, and is regularly seen playing orchestrally, and in smaller ensembles, around the county and on cruise-ships worldwide.
On Friday, June 22, she's back on home turf, when the Divertimento String Quartet plays at St Mary's Church, Totnes, at 7.30pm.
Vicky, with co-musicians Mary Eade, Lindsay Braga (violins), and violist Andrew Gillett, has chosen an especially varied programme for hopefully a glorious summer evening. But even if the weather doesn't play its part, for the classical aficionado there's Haydn's Quartet in G, Op 33 No 5, Schubert's Rosamunde Quartet, and Shostakovich's First Quartet, with Frank Bridge's Cherry Ripe and Elgar's Idylle providing some lighter contrast.
Jazz fans are catered for, too, with Bill Thorpe's Makin' Whoopee and Irish Sherry, and Cole Porter's Let's Do It.
