AS the Centre for Sporting Excellence in Plymouth, UCP Marjon provides state-of-the-art sports facilities for students, employees, athletes and the local community. We continue to promote the benefits of sport, health and well-being and in doing so are delighted to support this Herald campaign.
A great deal of the activity that takes place at the UCP Marjon sport centre has been directly linked to the loveLIFE campaign and we have covered many stories including providing a training centre for the three Plymouth professional sports teams – PAFC, PARFC, and UCP Marjon Raiders.
We have also featured our partnership with Plymouth College, our hosting of the Ghana Team in preparation for the 2012 Olympics, regular health checks for local companies, health evaluations for UCP Marjon employees, and recently our assistance in helping a Herald member of staff to get in shape for her wedding.
The sports centre at UCP Marjon has benefited tremendously from the recent £12m investment and is now able to offer even more children's and adults sports clubs, taster open days, lessons and classes, as well as the new improved Grandstand cafe.
