VOLUNTEERS took to Batten Bay at the weekend for a beach clean and survey.

The event was organised by the Marine Conservation Society (MCS) as part of their annual Beach Watch event.

Helpers braved the intermittent wet weather collecting discarded rubbish ranging from tissues to cups.

Teams spent between an hour and an hour and a half cleaning litter and debris from the beach.
