'ZOMBIES' will be spotted dragging their rotting corpses throughout the waterfront as part of a charity stunt.

An apocalypse is expected to fall on Saturday October 20 creating a horrifying spectacle.

The Zombie walk – and treasure hunt – has been organised by a group of businesses in Plymouth, led by Blue Banana, to raise money for St Luke's Hospice.

The Plymouth Zombie Walk follows on from the successes of many similar events being held around the world right now in the lead-up to Halloween.

“I'm sure they did consider the relatives and those suffering. That's why they decided to support them. We also know there are some people who have either no sense of humour or no discernible sense of practicality. Halloween is all about the gruesome and macabre anyway and this walk will target a demographic who would not normally support St. Lukes. I think it's a great idea.”

“Who on earth thought up this public relations nightmare. I think St Lukes is a great institution, that helps those people who are actually dying do so with dignity and comfort.
Surely any photographs of people dressed as a parody of the `living dead` and representing St Lukes does have the potential to cause upset to the relatives of someone who might either be at St Lukes or have recently passed away.
Don`t get me wrong I always support St Lukes and have nothing but the greatest respect but I mean Zombies? Halloween walk would have been more appropriate.
Whats next Gary Glitter walk for Children In Need.
Parodying the dead whilst dealing with those that are dying and their relatives is a dodgy thing to do no matter how good the intentions - suprised no one else has considered how this might upset someone who has suffered a loss.
Either way GOOD LUCK to St Lukes hope things don`t go wrong will still be a supporter of your work.”
