Ways to bring a new home to life!
(Advertising feature)
Moving into a new house can be a daunting experience; the job to transform an empty shell of a building into something you can call home is no easy task. It’s a lot of moving boxes, phoning people up and generally getting stressed out. Lovely. But there are ways to make the experience easier. One way is to give your home the personal touch. Let’s face it, the sooner you decorate it, the sooner you can start living in it. Although we can’t physically lend you a hand, here’s some of our advice to bring you home to life!
Quick spruce
Sleeping in a vacant room with nothing but plain, white walls to keep you company can be slightly intimidating. That’s why it’s always a good idea to try and unpack and decorate a little to make it feel more like home. Now we know what you’re thinking. How, in between moving all your stuff and settling in, are you going to find the time to add a touch of colour to your new pad? Well, we’re not suggesting a complete transformation, but there are ways and means to make a room feel like yours. Putting up shutters is a great way to add some character to your room. This requires minimal effort and is a great way to make a room more liveable. Hillarys shutters are a great choice if you’re unsure where to go, providing a diverse selection of quality styles and design, so it’s well worth a try!

De-clutter
Another way to make your house a home is to try and get rid of any clutter as you go along. Staying organised throughout the big move is an excellent way to guarantee your house will look how you want it to as quickly as possible. Living out of boxes for six months before you even decide to decorate is a bad move, so dedicate some time to your new place and soon you’ll never want to leave!
Personalise
If you’re looking to bring your house to life, then why not fill it with those items which made your previous home or room so well loved. Maybe add some family photos, some posters, your flat screen TV, anything that will make it personal to you. Creating a space that you believe is truly representative of your personality will really allow your character to flourish; keep those luxuries hidden away and you won’t enjoy your new home half as much.
Celebrate
The best way to really appreciate your new house is to celebrate the move. Get the champers flowing and the banners waving, as you only want the best for this momentous occasion. Allowing your nearest and dearest to be a part of this new chapter in your life is a fantastic way to brighten up your home. (Especially through those lovely house warming presents!)
