Welsh male voice choir at church
PLYMOUTH'S Emmanuel Church has been well-known in the past for presenting a wide range of musical events.
On Saturday, June 23 it plays host to the Pontnewydd Male Voice Choir, pictured right, on behalf of Parkinson's UK.
The Welsh choir was founded over 100 years ago and, excluding a short unsettled time in the early 1950s, has had only three conductors during that time, its present one, Walford John Hutchings, having been appointed in 1970.
Together with assistant conductor Keith Jones, and accompanists Pauline Carey and Annette Williams, the choir has performed extensively at home, and well as throughout Europe, and in Canada.
