PLYMOUTH will try again to get out of the Premier League's bottom two against lowly Heathcote tomorrow (1pm).

They almost made it last weekend when they handed Sandford a nine-wicket defeat, except that results elsewhere went against them.

The second-bottom city side, however, are not far off either closing the gap on the rest of the division, or getting out of the relegation zone.

Plymouth are just 10 points adrift of third-bottom Budleigh Salterton.

A victory over bottom side Heathcote would be just what the doctor ordered – if the game is played at all.

Plymouth are worried that one of their most important matches of the season will be rained off.

Heavy rain was forecast for today, with the possibility of heavy showers tomorrow.

"We could do with playing the game," said Plymouth skipper Callum Whittaker. "It's a big game for us and Heathcote are important.

"Basically, we will be doing everything we can to get the game on."

Whittaker is confident Plymouth can get out of their current difficult position.

The city side have won two and lost four of their first six matches of the season.

Whittaker said: "I don't know a lot about Heathcote, but we can't worry about what other sides do, only about ourselves.

"We will do what we have to do, compose ourselves and try to be positive.

"We're not arrogant, but we are a confident team. We're a competitive side – it's a bit like having all the bits of a jigsaw – we don't know how they fit together yet."

George Stephenson is included in the team ahead of Pasi Mawalage.

On Sunday, Plymouth are at Brixham in a Devon Cup tie.

Plymouth: Callum Whittaker (capt), James Toms, Jack Bryant, Chris Barr, Jake Luffman, Andy Birkett, Matt Hooper, Rob Bennett, Sam Stein, George Stephenson, Ben Stein
