“M_Dalston I can only assume you are currently in Barbados if you think it wasn't below freezing at 18:00 on Yar Tor (416m) Dartcom's weather station shows it certainly was (at 369m). http://tinyurl.com/62k4n43
If you'd bothered to check out Dartmoor Search and Rescue Ashburton's site you'd know she is fine apart from a broken ankle and hopefully a better idea of what kit to take on her next adventure... http://tinyurl.com/b2tmfws
Perhaps a little less high horse and a bit more research next time?”

“@Scoops007 - the police/ambulance service could just have easily lifted her off, but DRG's free.”

“This is what happens when they close schools and colleges because of the snow.”

“Iweston - where does it say it was below freezing and that she had no clothes or hot drink? There was also no advice against sledging at Poundsgate. And last it doesn't even say in the article that she is OK. You have some imagination.”

“Dartmoor rescue really? She twisted her ankle so why couldn't her friends help her hop back? Kids of today have no steel within in this candy coated society we live in. I'm sure she would of made it back if she found out no hope was coming”

“Stupid girl,
She goes to Dartmoor
Below freezing conditions
No basic survival clothes or hot drink
Against advice of all emergency services and media
Glad she is ok but-
Its her own fault”
