The money was raised at a ladies-only event held at Jolly Jacks restaurant and bar, on Mayflower Marina, earlier this year.

The sell-out evening saw guests enjoy a reception hosted by the Butlers in the Buff, semi-naked waiters, followed by a two course supper cooked by Jolly Jacks chefs.

There was also an auction conducted by BBC Radio Devon presenter David Fitzgerald and a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses.

Sue Hobbs, chair of The Primrose Foundation, said: "We were looked after very well by Sue Robson and Sally Baum at Jolly Jacks, and the Butlers in the Buff and David Fitzgerald were great fun.

"Thank you to everyone who attended and who bid so generously and enthusiastically in the auction.

"The Primrose Foundation is extremely grateful to all those who continue to support its work."

The money raised was topped up through the Local Match Fund Challenge held over the summer months.
