"For us it's about finding somebody with a real passion for working in childcare, matching them with an employer and then investing in their training," says Jane.
"Our employer partners are happy because they have real involvement in designing the training and their apprentices want to stay with them.
"Apprentices are highly motivated by the investment in their training and they know they are learning up-to-date and highly relevant skills."
Often, apprentices trained by Venus go on to work in highly responsible jobs in childcare.
Jane puts this down to the relevance and value of the training they receive and also to their ability to identify young people with star quality.
"We're always looking for people with genuine interest and commitment – when you start with that you can achieve great things."
