Yacht stranded on Plymouth breakwater after sailor is rescued
A SAILOR had to be rescued after his yacht got stuck on rocks in Plymouth Sound.
After making two attempts to land the 26-foot vessel, Brixham Coastguard said it became lodged on rocks at the western end of the breakwater.

The Plymouth Inshore Lifeboat was tasked to head to the scene at around 8.30pm on Thursday evening to rescue to man.
The crew brought the uninjured sailor back to Millbay and he was expected to try and recover his yacht later.

“Yes, PL1. Any caravans that get stuck on Plymouth Breakwater should be rescued entirely at the owners expense.”

“Blimey, this picture really brings home to you the sheer size of Plymouth Breakwater, you cant even see a 26 foot yacht on it! It must be behind some of those Tors, which were traken off Dartmoor to build it.”

“@timplymouth,
Approximate cost to the taxpayer I would say under a pound The referral of Brixham Coastguard to the RNLI. And that isn't a real cost as they would be there anyway.
Total cost to the RNLI however, significantly more. But as they are an entirely voluntarily funded organisation, whose brave volunteers give up their time for free. I am sure if this "rich boy" is as rich as you assume he will make a sizeable donation to the RNLI, if he doesn't do so already - as most water users do on a very regular and generous basis.”
