Youngsters make black and white portraits at Plymouth Museum and Art Gallery

HUNDREDS of children and their parents had a go at making black and white portraits during a workshop at Plymouth City Museum and Art Gallery.

They were inspired by photographs in the "Ida Kar: Bohemian Photographer" exhibition.

About 40 works by the Russian-born photographer, on loan from the National Portrait Gallery, are on show at the museum until April 13.

Kar photographed some of the most celebrated figures from the literary and art worlds of the 1950s and 1960s.
