Youth club given cash for equipment
YOUNGSTERS of military families have a brighter future at their youth club after receiving a £1,000 donation. The children attend the Naval Personnel and Family Service and the Royal Marines Welfare Youth Group at the Crownhill Family Centre.
The group is run on good will, donations and cash raised at events such as a car wash and fete.
Ward councillor Jon Taylor made the donation which has enabled the group to buy basic resources.
Centre manager Sara Parsons said: "The youth group is self-funded through children raising money, small session fees and occasional donations from kind people. So we are overwhelmed by this large amount from Jon.
