Admirals boosted by Micallef return

Micallef was due to miss the rest of the season due to a trip to Africa on a work placement, but that has now fallen through.
Instead, the 21-year-old Maltese student will be in the line-up to face Reading Renegades, the only team Admirals have beaten so far this season, on Sunday.
Micallef, a first-year player with the city club, proved a huge hit both on offence and defence at the beginning of the season after a stint with the Plymouth University team.
Offensive coordinator Mark Tanner said: “Kyle was supposed to miss the second half of the season completing a work placement in Africa.
“Things didn't quite work out as planned, which is a real shame, but we are over the moon to have him back in an Admirals shirt.”
Tanner added: “So far this season he's been outstanding on offence, defence and special teams and it's amazing that this is his first year in the sport.
“We can't wait to see what else he is capable of, starting this weekend.”
Admirals, coming off a three-week break, defeated Renegades 36-15 at Parkway Sports Club in June, but head coach Steve Perry feels the challenge tomorrow could be a lot tougher.
He said: “Home advantage can really come into play when your opposition have an especially long journey.
“Reading are one of our furthest opponents and so I've made the squad fully aware that we need to be fired up and raring to go come kick off.
“We didn't do this when we played them last month. We took a while to get going, and even trailed at half time. But after the break we put in our best performance for quite some time to comfortably take the win.”
Perry added: “This weekend we can't afford to rely on a big comeback.
“We need to perform from the start and throughout the game if we are going to be successful.
“We're above the Renegades in the table at the moment and I'm looking for us to move further ahead of them after Sunday.”
