One agency should supply our power
GAS and electric going up like no tomorrow, yet again. Imagine one organisation set up for our gas and electricity supply via a Government agency. Imagine the buying power of such an agency, and guess what, you would only need one chief executive, one sales team and one set of engineers. So why, oh why, allow the private sector, so-called competitive market place, to see us off year after year. Just add up all the profits for all the companies involved to see how we are being taken for a ride.

“This is quite a common fallacy. Government agencies are always badly run and waste more money than they save. You would also have the problem that all utility investment would require government borrowing and show up on our balance sheet, thus making borrowing more expensive.”
