Seip looking forward to the Pilgrims' future

Seip, who is widely rated as one of the best centre-backs in the Championship, has put pen to paper on a deal that takes him through until the end of the 2010/11 season.
The 26-year-old could have chosen not to re-sign a contract with Argyle and leave on a Bosman transfer next summer, which was the option taken by Tony Capaldi and Paul Connolly in the recent past.
But Seip admitted: "I'm happy to have signed for another two years. I have got a little bit more security now."
The contract extension does not guarantee that Seip will remain at Home Park until June 2011, however.
But Argyle would have a better bargaining position should, at some point in the future, another club make a move for Seip.
"The way I see it, if a club wants you it doesn't matter if you have got two years on his contract or none left," said Seip.
"If you just keep playing well, they are going to come in for you anyway.
"I'm not worried they are going to hold off. If they really want me, they won't mind paying some money to Argyle, which would be good for the club."
But, for the time being, Seip is excited about the prospect of Argyle continuing their development at the Championship level.
After the departure of so many high-profile players earlier in the year – such as Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, Peter Halmosi and David Norris – it was feared the Pilgrims would struggle this season.
After picking up only two points from their first five games, Argyle have shown a considerable improvement and are currently sitting in ninth spot in the table as they prepare to take on Cardiff.
Seip said: "Every year is probably going to be the same with Argyle, with people not knowing what to expect because, in the end, we are not the richest club in this division.
"We are doing well this season and we are only three points away from the play-offs positions, so you don't know where it's going to lead.
"If we go on a good run again, then we will be right up there."
Seip, who was signed by Argyle as a free agent in August 2006 after leaving Dutch top flight club Heerenveen, admitted he was settled in Plymouth.
He said: "I like the town and my girlfriend is from here. I love it here to be honest."
Asked how he saw his long-term future, Seip replied: "You never know. I stayed at my former club (Heerenveen) for five years.
"I'm 26 and this is only my third club so it's not like I'm one of those players who moves after one year."
Seip's centre-back pairing with loan signing Craig Cathcart has been one of the most impressive aspects of this season for Argyle.
The fine form of the 19-year-old Manchester United defender has kept him in the team ahead of Krisztian Timar, who was the Pilgrims' 2007/08 player-of-the-year.
Seip said: "You have to know each other – it was the same last season when I played a lot with Krisztian.
"After a while, you get to recognise the strengths of each other's game and then you can build a good partnership.
"He's only 19 and he's already a good player. If he can be consistent I think he has got a nice future ahead of him."
Argyle's last two games at Home Park have ended in a 3-1 defeat by Ipswich Town and a 2-2 draw with Charlton Athletic so Seip hopes they will fare better when they take on Cardiff.
But he said: "If we are not on top of our game, in this division you are not going to win.
"We just have to look at our own game and hope we can do well. I think we have to do better at home.
"We have struggled at home, but away we have picked up so many points."
