Two arrested in Plymouth after alleged attack on police officers

TWO men have been arrested after an alleged attack on police officers in Stonehouse.

The men were being questioned last night on suspicion of drugs, assault and public order offences.

Police said an incident began when officers stopped a man in Stonehouse on suspicion of drugs offences.

The officers called for assistance reporting they were threatened and attacked with tiles pulled from the porch of a building.

One of the officers was left with minor grazes on her hands, police said.

The arrested men were understood to be a father and son, the police said last night.

Nine police cars responded to the incident in Rendle Street at about 2pm yesterday.
