Top author shares tips with students
STUDENTS have taken part in a short story writing workshop via Skype.
Pupils in Year 8 at Lipson Community College studying a gothic unit had the opportunity to link their learning on the creative process with that of an established and renowned writer.
Susan Hill, author of The Woman in Black, spoke live in-lesson from her writer's retreat via Skype. Students asked questions about Hill's life and her ideas for books. English teacher Laura Hatwell said: "The students came out of this lesson with the clearest sense yet of what it is to think like a writer. Hill shared the secrets of her practice freely and with tender enthusiasm."
