'Why we're backing Plymouth's City of Culture bid' - Facebook users
Plymouth is bidding to be named UK City of Culture 2017. We are asking the people of the city to speak up to support the move. Today visitors to the bid team's Facebook page lend their support to the campaign.
Dorothea Orme said: "I back it because it is totally underrated and is a gem of a city. We take it for granted and I am in two minds whether I want outsiders to know just how wonderful it is."
-

Cory Fletcher: "We have a fabulous and long history that many visitors miss out on. With extra funds maybe we would be able to tell every visitor about how great Plymouth was in the past and why it should be great in the future too."
Val Muddyman said: "I feel that winning the bid would attract more businesses into the area which we need."

Charlotte Fisher Burn said: "There are amazing artists, musicians, film makers and performers in this area and we need to showcase their work."
Kirsty Marie Kirkwood said: "I believe we are a beautiful city but areas are left to collect rubbish and don't look pretty. Attention to detail is key if we want to be in for a chance."
