Two are charged after four-car accident which shut A38 lanes
TWO men have been charged with aggravated vehicle taking after a four-car accident on the A38 in which a man was injured.
Arkadiusz Zak, aged 25, and Pawel Roszak, aged 23, were bailed to appear at Plymouth Magistrates' Court accused of taking a car which was then involved in a crash at Wrangaton near South Brent.
Zak, of Wallace Road in Bodmin, and Roszak, of Pavlova Close in Liskeard, allegedly took a Renault Laguna without the owner's consent.
The vehicle was then said to have been involved in an accident in which a man was injured and damage which cost more than £10,100 was caused on the Exeter-bound carriageway on October 31.
Both men have indicated 'no plea' to the charge.
Magistrates had earlier ruled that the case was so serious that it should be sent to crown court.
Zak and Roszak were released to face magistrates again, but only Zak turned up by his bail time.
His solicitor asked for more time to consider prosecution papers before the case is sent to the crown court.
Magistrates released Zak on unconditional bail to return to the court on August 4.
The court issued a warrant for Roszak to be arrested and brought to court.
The accident happened at about 5.30am on October 31.
Police said that two Ford Mondeos, a Citroen Picasso and the Laguna were involved in an accident near the Woodpecker petrol station. The Exeter-bound lanes were closed for around three hours with traffic being diverted off the A38.
