LA La Choir are opening their doors and their ears to potential new members, with a free taster session this Friday.

The taster session is being used to encourage new members to come along and have a go, with the ethos of the choir being simple: "If you enjoy having a laugh, then this choir is for you".

The choir, which has been running since 2008, is directed by Military Wives Choir star Sam Abrahams.

Director Sam has always been a passionate lover of music and now works self employed as a music director.

Sam starred on TV show 'The Choir' last November, when she directed a surprise song written for renowned director Gareth Malone. She also performed with the Military Wives Choir at the Queen's jubilee.

The performances opened a musical door, as Sam set up the Lympstone choir at the Commando Training Centre for Royal Marines and she has just completed directing both Chivenor and Lympstone's second album.

Members of the choir described her as a "fantastic choir master" and "a strong and vivacious woman with a passion for music."

They also encouraged people to come along, saying: "La La isn't for people who can sing, it's for people who want to sing. If you always wanted to sing in a choir, but thought you couldn't join, you'll love it."

The free taster session will take place this Friday evening from 7.15-9.15pm at Trinity URC Hall, Torr Lane, Plymouth, PL3 5NY.
