Film studies lecturer Greg Tuck is licensed to spill the beans on what 007's character says about machismo and masculinity.
The seminar, on December 9, follows a screening of Bond's latest, Quantum of Solace.
Tuck, who works at the University of West of England, describes himself as "a guilty James Bond fan".
The talk is the second within the arts centre's film academy and is in collaboration with the School of Art and Media at the University of Plymouth.
Tickets for the screening are offered at a discount price of £3.50 for anybody attending the seminar, which is free.
